An apparatus for driving an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method for driving the same are provided to perform stable compensation by delaying unstable control signals through the counting of diffusion dot clocks. An apparatus for driving an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a liquid crystal panel(4), a gate integrated circuit(GD), data integrated circuits(DDel-DDon), and a timing controller(8). The liquid crystal panel includes an image display unit for displaying images. The gate integrated circuit and data integrated circuits drive the liquid crystal panel. The timing controller generates gate and data control signals using a synchronous signal from outside, delays at least one of the gate and data control signals according to the synchronous signal, and supplies the delayed gate and data control signals to the gate and data integrated circuits.
