An LED(Light Emitting Diode), and a backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to mount a light emitting chip on a side wall of a reflection unit formed on substrate, thereby improving color mixing of light emitted form the LED. In a substrate(411), a reflection unit(415) of a recess type is formed. At least one light emitting chip(412a~412d) is mounted on the reflection unit of the substrate. The reflection comprises a base surface(416) and a side wall(417) formed at a first angle on the base surface. The light emitting chip is mounted on the side wall. The light emitting chips are one or more and mounted as being spaced as much as a predetermined interval on the side wall.
