A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device having the same are provided to apply a higher current than those of other driving channels to driving channels of both ends, in which much current is leaked, to compensate the amount of reduced luminance caused by the leakage current, thereby solving an inter-area luminance difference between lamps connected to plural driving channels. A lamp array(110) is operated through plural driving channels. A power array(120) applies a driving voltage to each of the plural driving channels. A current amplifier(130a,130b) amplifies the current size of an input voltage from the power array and outputs the amplified input voltage to the lamp array connected to the driving channels of both ends out of the plural driving channels. |
