A method for measuring the activity of MMP(matrix metalloprotease)-9 in an ovum culture solution is provided to predict an implantation rate or a pregnancy rate of a fertilized egg conveniently with high compatibility to a patient. A method for predicting an implantation rate or a pregnancy rate of a fertilized egg comprises a step of measuring the activity of MMP-9 contained in an in vitro ovum culture solution through zymography or immunoassay, wherein the activity of the MMP-9 has the positive correlation to the implantation rate or the pregnancy rate of the fertilized egg. A kit for predicting the implantation rate or pregnancy rate of the fertilized egg comprises a substrate of the MMP-9, an antibody specifically coupled to the MMP-9 or an antibody specifically coupled to a proteolytic cleavage product of proMMP-9. Further, the substrate of the MMP-9 is one selected from a group consisting of collagen IV, collagen V, collagen XI, elastin, proteoglycan and gelatin.
