The system (50) has a low velocity region established within a recirculation nuclear steam generator (100) and defined by a deck plate of a primary separator. A top plate is located above the deck plate, and a peripheral stiffener ring is placed adjacent to a periphery of the deck plate and the top plate. A conveying unit conveys a discharge current flow of recirculated water (22) created within the generator, towards the low velocity region. An independent claim is also included for a recirculation nuclear steam generator comprising a pressure vessel.
