PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus for opening a molten pig iron tapping hole which can easilyly separate the base end part of a hole-opening rod 1 fuse-deformed by being advanced into the molten pig iron tapping hole 8 and a shank rod of a drifter screwed with the base end part from each other. SOLUTION: The hole-opening rod 1 for molten pig iron tapping hole and the drifter 2 are screwed to each other through the shank rod 3 and a sleeve 5, the hole-opening rod 1 and the sleeve 5 are screwed to each other with looseness helixes 4,4', and the shank rod 3 and the sleeve 5 are screwed to each other with an interference screws 6,6'. When the hole-opening rod 1 is exchanged after opening the molten pig iron tapping hole, this apparatus for opening the molten pig iron tapping hole has the peculiarity, the drifter 2 is reversely rotated, thereby easily separating the opening-hole rod 1 and the sleeve 5 from each other.
