PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to grasp instant fuel consumption without inviting a danger of driving while looking away. SOLUTION: The fuel consumption notifying device comprises: a speaker installed inside a vehicle; a sound signal generation means for generating a traveling sound signal expressing the sound which reflects a running state of the vehicle, and for supplying the signal to the speaker; a control means for comparing traveling speed of the vehicle and the instant fuel consumption calculated from the amount of fuel consumption at measuring timing with a predetermined reference value at every predetermined measuring timing, and for generating a predetermined processing control signal when the instant fuel consumption is below the reference value; and a sound signal processing means for performing a processing in compliance with the processing control signal on the traveling sound signal supplied to the speaker by the sound signal generation means.
