COMPOSITION FOR FUEL CELL, POLYMER ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE FOR FUEL CELL USING IT, CATALYST LAYER, OR FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a fuel cell with restrained swelling property/solubility and permeability to hydrogen-containing liquid such as methanol useful for a proton conductive polymer electrolyte used for a solid polymer fuel cell, a direct-liquid type fuel cell, a direct-methanol type fuel cell or the like, and a polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell, a catalyst layer or a fuel cell using the same.

SOLUTION: The composition for a fuel cell contains at least a polymer compound with an unsaturated hydrocarbon system monomer with a proton conductive group and an unsaturated hydrocarbon monomer without a proton conductive group as essential constituent monomers and made up by polymerizing the monomers without bridging, and organic peroxide.
