PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve driving actuator having a reduced size preventing the entry of water when arranged in water. SOLUTION: The valve driving actuator 1 comprises a motor 6, a casing 7 storing the motor 6, and an output shaft 8 for outputting the driving force of the motor 6 to the outside of the casing 7. An internal space of the casing 7 is divided into an inner chamber 10 for storing components susceptible to water and a sensor chamber 11 for encircling its surrounding area. Water entering into the casing 7 is first reserved in the sensor chamber 11 to slow the entry into the inner chamber 10. Before the water reserved in the sensor chamber 11 enters into the inner chamber 10, a sensor 9 provided in the sensor chamber 11 detects the entry of the water into the casing 7. Thus, no need exists for an exclusive air chamber to prevent the entry of water, resulting in the valve driving actuator 1 having a reduced size. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
