PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system or the like which is capable of performing precise noise reduction processing optimized for a photographic environment. SOLUTION: The imaging system is provided with: a first noise reduction unit 114 that extracts a local region including a noticed pixel and neighboring pixels from a video signal from a CCD 1 and carries out edge preserving type applicable noise reduction processing for the noticed pixel in the local region to roughly eliminate the influence of edge components; a noise estimation unit 115 that dynamically estimates a noise amount relating to the noticed pixel on the basis of a noticed pixel value subjected to noise reduction by the first noise reduction unit 114; and a second noise reduction unit 116 that carries out noise reduction processing for the noticed pixel on the basis of the noticed pixel subjected to noise reduction by the first noise reduction unit 114 and the noise amount estimated by the noise estimation unit 115.
