PURPOSE:To easily execute the processing of programs or data with large capacity by providing an IC card with an optical memory. CONSTITUTION:An optical memory 7 is formed on an IC card 1 provided with a CPU 2, an IC memory 3 and I/O devices 4, 5. A program in the optical memory 7 is read out by an optical sensor 8 and processed by the CPU 2. On the other hand, data in the optical memory 7 are read out by the optical sensor 8, processed by the CPU 2 and then outputted to an external reader/writer or the like. Consequently, programs or data with large capacity can be easily processed without being restricted by the capacity of the IC memory 3.
