<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a method for effectively making good use of an extract of a plant (Salacia oblonga, Salacia reticulata or Salacia prinoides) of the genus Salacia having high effectiveness and to develop an external preparation for skin, effective for preventing/ameliorating skin worries such as wrinkles, chapped skin, dryness and drabness of the skin. <P>SOLUTION: The external preparation for skin comprises an extract of a plant (Salacia oblonga, Salacia reticulata or Salacia prinoides) of the genus Salacia which is found to have a not conventionally confirmed function, namely, a DPPH radical-scavenging action and a linoleic acid oxidation inhibitory action and is found to be effective for skin worries such as wrinkles, chapped skin, dryness and drabness of the skin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
