PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel ferrocene-containing conductive polymer able to enhance action characteristics when used as a material of the organic active layer of an organic memory element, the organic memory element and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing the organic memory element having the organic active layer between a first electrode and a second electrode includes a step of forming the organic active layer by using the ferrocene-containing conductive polymer containing fluorenyl repeating units, thienyl repeating units and diallyl ferrocenyl repeating units.
