The tool comprises a piston (5) which can be propelled under the action of the explosion of a mixture of gas and air to drive an element, a first, gas -metering chamber (11) , a second, gas-air mixture-preparation chamber (12), designed to communicate with the first chamber (11), and a third chamber (13) designed to communicate with the second chamber (12) , which is delimited by the piston (5) and which is a throttling and propulsion chamber. The invention is ideally applicable to securing tools.
