PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an after-recording method by which after-recording sound is reproduced easily and timely-accurately matching an original video. SOLUTION: The method comprises: a first step for reading out a bit stream from a recording medium 19; a second step for decoding this bit strea;, a third step for encoding new data to generate a bit stream for after-recording synchronizing with decoding of this bit stream; a fourth step for writing the bit stream for after-recording in the recording medium 19; and a fifth step for writing information indicating presentation time stamp of a part starting to correspond to the bit stream for after-recording out of bit streams read out from the recording medium 19 in an area for recording additional information of the recording medium 19as information indicating timewise correspondence relation between the bit stream read out from the recording medium 19 and the bit stream for after-recording.
