PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an active video from being hidden behind a menu display on a television receiver with a multi-video screen display function and an OSD (On Screen Display) function. SOLUTION: The video which is active among a plurality of videos displayed on a display simultaneously is decided (step S1), and position information on the active video is acquired (step S2). A margin position on a screen for the active video is decided (step S3) and an arrangement position of the menu display is determined (step S4). Based upon the position information on the active video, an OSD display of the menu display is made on the display avoiding an overlap with the active video (step S5). Consequently, the menu display does not overlap with the active video, so the case wherein the active video is hidden behind the menu display is avoided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
