PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved roll finisher used for a washing apparatus, by which a time required for drying dehydrated laundry as an object to be processed is reduced to improve work efficiency. SOLUTION: An evacuated chamber 10 is installed so as to be opposed to a belt 2 wound around a heating roll 1 to turn, and exhausted by a blower 11. Thereby a draft is produced around washing 5 caught between the heating roll 1 and the belt 2. For promoting drying more, the roll finisher is operated so that a belt with large gas permeability is used as the belt 2, and tension and running speed of the belt 2 is adjusted to acquire the minimum value of required drying time.
