A multi-stage link adaptation method for a digital communication system is provided to maintain performance more than a reference level in a time-variable status and secure the stability of a system or a call according as the overhead of a control signal is small. A multi-stage link adaptation method comprises the following steps of: performing initial allocation to power, a sub carrier, and a user when a system starts at early stage(300); setting parameters necessary to operate a link adaptation method system; performing power control according to a change of a microscopic channel status(302); determining whether a channel exceeds a microscopic change level when the change amount of power is greater than TH_PWR_CHANGE, a parameter for determining whether the channel status change exceeds the microscopic change level, for a certain time(303); dividing the sub carrier and the user as a S2 group for two stage operation(304); performing a third stage directly when a predefined limited channel status is detected; and performing resource reallocation only to the sub carrier and the user included into the S2 group(308).
|
