PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet treatment device capable of enhancing the alignment accuracy by effectively pressing a sheet on a treatment tray while effectively preventing ingress of an object from the treatment tray side. SOLUTION: A shutter solenoid 441 is turned ON to elevate a shutter 443 when moving a sheet S discharged in a treatment tray 410 toward a side end positioning wall 416, and the sheet S is positioned at a stapler unit 420. Thereafter, the shutter solenoid 441 is turned OFF immediately to drop the shutter 443, and the sheet S is pressed against the treatment tray 410 to prevent any positional deviation of the sheet S. The number of components, the power consumption and the assembly man-hour can be reduced more in comparison with a case in which the shielding of the stapler unit 420 and the prevention of any positional deviation of the sheet are performed by separate members.
