PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nucleic acid probe for classification of pathogenic bacterial species, collectively detecting the bacterial strains of the same species and differentially detecting them from other bacterial species.

SOLUTION: Any one of the specific base sequences originated from Prevotella denticola bacteria or a combination of at least two of them is used as a probe for detecting the gene of an infectious disease pathogenic bacterium. The probe can be used to obtain a kit for genetic tests.
