PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor capable of simply and effectively reducing thrust load and improving durability of the compressor. SOLUTION: The compressor is provided with a rotary shaft 16 extending in a hermetic vessel 2, transmitting drive force of a motor 14 to a compression unit 34, having an oil supply path 32 of lubricating oil bored inside thereof, and generating thrust load Fs toward an oil storage chamber 30 from the compression unit; an oil pump 28 installed on a lower end side of the rotary shaft and supplying lubricating oil in the oil storage chamber to the oil supply path; a frame 26 rotatbly supporting the lower end side of the rotary shaft; and a thrust bearing mechanism 54 bearing thrust load in an outer circumference 16a side of the rotary shaft.
