PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of correctly performing the skew correction in a sheet material conveyor for correcting the skew of a sheet while forming a loop. SOLUTION: A sheet material conveyor for correcting the skew of a sheet while forming a loop on a sheet by a pair of skew correction rollers 203 and a conveying roller 206 for forming a loop on the upstream side thereof has an upstream skew detection sensor 204 and a downstream side skew detection sensor 205 respectively provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of the skew correction roller. The correction amount is determined based on the skew amount of the sheet detected by the upstream skew detection sensor 204, and the correction amount is adjusted based on the relationship of the skew amount before and after the correction requested by the downstream skew detection sensor in advance.
