<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably prevent the degradation of volume efficiency caused by the duplication of intake stroke periods even if manifolds corresponding to respective cylinders of a multi-cylinder engine are formed by being branched from a single surge tank, in an intake manifold of a multi-cylinder engine. <P>SOLUTION: For example, the intake manifold of a four-cylinder engine has a plurality of manifolds formed through branch openings 13a-13d arranged on the inner wall of a surge tank 11 by being branched from the surge tank 11. On the inner wall of the surge tank 11, partition plates 14a and 14b suppressing the sneaking of intake air between the respective branch openings are arranged between the branch opening 13a corresponding to the first cylinder #1 and the branch opening 13b corresponding to the second cylinder #2, and between the branch opening 13c corresponding to the third cylinder #3 and the branch opening 13d corresponding to the fourth cylinder #4, respectively. Respective sides of the partition plates 14a and 14b are connected to each other by a partition plate 14c on sides facing intake air flowing into the surge tank 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
