<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID tag reading system and an RFID tag reading method capable of easily setting a shape of a reading area where an RFID tag is readable. <P>SOLUTION: RFID tag reading equipment 1 for reading data from the RFID tag which radiates a reply wave by an electromagnetic wave when receiving a question wave comprises a reading device 10 for outputting the question wave by a high frequency wave current and for reading data after demodulating this when the reply wave is inputted by the high frequency wave current, and an antenna system A1 including first to third antennas (11, 12, 13) for each outputting the high frequency wave current when receiving the electromagnetic wave and for radiating the electromagnetic wave when the high frequency wave current is inputted.
