METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYLACTIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polylactide which has an extremely small volatile impurity content and is excellent in thermal stability, color stability and hydrolysis resistance. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polylactide comprises a process (i) for polymerizing lactide in the presence of an initiator and a metal catalyst to obtain the polylactide, and a process (ii) for kneading the polylactide in the presence of water and a catalyst deactivator and then subjecting the product to a reduced pressure treatment.
