ANTI-THEFT DEVICE FOR SOLAR PANELS

The invention is a theft prevention system for photovoltaic panels of a solar installation, which is highly effective, simple and inexpensive. The device comprises at least one cable (2) laid so that it passes through all the solar panels (1) of the installation. This cable (2) may be a fibre optic cable or electric cable, and a light bundle or electric current, respectively, will be run through it. The ends of the cable (2) are connected to an electronic control circuit (3) able to detect a cut in the cable (2) when an interruption in the light bundle in the fibre or a loss of voltage at the ends of the electric cable occurs. Theft of the panel requires cutting the cable (2) joining all the panels (1) together (passing through them or bonded to the back of them), this act being detected by the control circuit (3) which triggers an audible and/or visual alarm, which may form part of the solar installation or be a remote alarm.
