The present invention relates to a process for providing an aluminium art icle with a copper coating, comprising a first step of anodizing said alumin ium article to produce an anodic oxide layer on the surface thereof; and a s econd step of colouring the anodized aluminium surface in an electrolytic ba th containing a copper salt by subjecting the aluminium surface to an asymme trical voltage controlled alternating block current having a positive phase and a negative phase, such that a metallic copper coloured coating is formed . The invention also relates to aluminium articles, provided with a copper c oating, obtainable by said process. |
