PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood pellet combustion apparatus which improves the durability of an ash treatment part by preventing combustion near the ash treatment part. SOLUTION: Wood pellet is burned on a fire grate 41 at the lower end of a combustion part 6. The ash treatment part 43 is provided below the fire grate 41, and ash is scraped by the operation of an ash scraping member 44. A combustion part internal temperature detecting means 57 is provided for detecting temperature in the combustion part 6 in a position corresponding to the upper end of a predetermined amount of ash on the fire grate 41. An ash treatment part internal temperature detecting means 58 is provided for detecting temperature in the ash treatment part 43. An ash treatment control means is provided for starting ash scraping operation when the detected temperature of the combustion part internal temperature detecting means 57 is a first set temperature or lower, and stopping the ash scraping operation when the detected temperature of the ash treatment part internal temperature detecting means 58 reaches a second set temperature or higher during the ash scraping operation.
