PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the incorporating property of a cage into an outer ring while securing the strength and durability of a joint. SOLUTION: This fixed type constant velocity universal joint comprises the outer ring 10 having a plurality of track grooves 14 in an inner spherical face 12, an inner ring having a plurality of track grooves in the outer spherical face, paired with the track grooves 14 of the outer ring 10, a plurality of balls laid between both track grooves of the outer ring 10 and the inner ring for transmitting torque, and the cage 40 laid between the inner spherical face of the outer ring 10 and the outer spherical face of the inner ring for holding the balls. The outer spherical face center and the inner spherical face center of the cage 40 are offset from the center of the joint to the opposite axial sides. On the vertical cross section of the cage 40, the outer ring 10 is thicker at the opening end, and the track grooves 14 of the outer ring 10 are tapered with their diameters enlarged toward the opening ends and the track grooves of the inner ring are tapered with their diameters enlarged toward the counter opening ends. Opening end shoulder portions 11 of the inner spherical face 12 of the outer ring 10 are inserted into pockets 46 of the cage 40, and the cage 40 is incorporated through the thicker portion into the outer ring 10 while being rotated with an insertion site as a supporting point.
