<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To include a 2R (reshaping and regenerating) function and a 3R (reshaping, retiming and regenerating) function and automatically switches to an optimum function, in a wavelength conversion apparatus for performing DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) communication. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a means for sending a DWDM signal in which optical signals from a plurality of optical communication devices 11 are converted into different wavelengths λ<SB>1</SB>to λ<SB>n</SB>and multiplexed, respectively; and a means for demultiplexing the DWDM signal to convert into optical signals with wavelengths corresponding to a plurality of optical communication devices 31, and inputs an input-interruption detecting signal, a clock-reproduction disabling detecting signal, and a frame synchronization disabling detecting signal into control units 7, 27. The control units 7, 27 control selectors 5, 25, and selectively output data from wavelength shaping parts 2, 22 to switch to the 2R function and selectively output data from retiming parts 4, 24 to switch to the 3R function. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
