A system and a method for providing information customized to a location by using a satellite are provided to offer local information corresponding to the location by enabling a ground information center to collect/transmit disaster, traffic, and living information to a GPS(Global Positioning System)/broadcasting satellite, and enabling the GPS/broadcasting satellite to transmit the received information to a ground information receiving/outputting system. A transmission system(1) is equipped with an information collecting/data generating unit(100) collecting various kinds of information and generating transmission data based on the collected information, and a data transmitter(110) transmitting the data to a GPS/broadcasting satellite(2). The GPS/broadcasting satellite is equipped with a data transceiver for receiving the data from the transmission system and transmitting the received data to all ground areas. A plurality of information receiving/outputting systems(3A-3C) receive and output the data received from the GPS/broadcasting satellite. The information collecting/data generating unit includes a GPS code generator, a situation selecting/code generating unit generating a code by selecting a situation, an information contents input unit and a termination code generator. |
