A plasma display apparatus is provided to prevent heat radiation of a control transistor by setting the position of the control transistor to prevent sustain current flowing. A plasma display apparatus includes a select circuit(510), an energy recovery circuit(504), drivers(502), and a control transistor. The select circuit, which is connected to scan electrodes, selectively applies voltages, supplied to first and second ends, to the scan electrodes. The energy recovery circuit, connected to a sustain voltage source and the select circuit, supplies sustain pulses to the scan electrodes. The drivers, connected to the select circuit, supply ramp-up, ramp-down, and scan pulses to the scan electrodes. The control transistor, controlling current flowing, is positioned between a second transistor for supplying the sustain voltage to the select circuit and a first transistor for supplying a ground voltage to the select circuit.
