ANTIBACTERIAL HOMOSERINE LACTONE DERIVATIVES AND METHOD OF REMOVING BACTERIA USING THE SAME

An antibacterial homoserine lactone derivative is provided to act as a quorum sensing antagonist for interrupting communications between microorganisms, thereby blocking a biofilm by the microorganisms effectively and preventing bacteria from propagating. An antibacterial homoserine lactone derivative is represented by a formula(1) or (2), wherein R1 is an aromatic hydrocarbon including N or an aromatic hydrocarbon including amino or nitro as a substituent; and R2 is a non-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic hydrocarbon including C1-4 alkyl or amino as a substituent. A method for removing microorganism comprises a step of contacting the microorganism with the antibacterial homoserine lactone derivative, wherein the microorganism includes Gram positive bacillus or Gram negative bacillus.
