Method for determining the iron content in an iron-zinc alloy coatingobtained by galvannealing, wherein the intensity of the luminous radiationemitted by the coating in an area of the strip surface is measured, thecoating load in the same area of the strip is measured, and the iron contentof the alloy coating in said area of the strip is deduced. The luminousradiation is preferably infrared radiation, having a wavelength between 0.75um and 15 um. It is possible to draw up a chart of the iron content of thecoating on the strip and modify the coating and/or annealing conditions tocorrect any irregularities. |
