A solid polymer electrolyte composite material, and a lithium secondary battery containing the solid polymer electrolyte composite material are provided to improve ion conductivity and to prevent the danger of explosion and leakage. A solid polymer electrolyte composite material comprises a polymer; a lithium salt; a plasticizer; and a filler containing 10-50 wt% of an imidazolium salt based on the lithium salt, wherein the imidazolium salt is ethylmethyl imidazolium-bis(tetrafluoromethane sulfonylimide)(EMI-TFSI), 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(tetrafluoromethane sulfonylimide)(BMI-TFSI), 1,2-dimethyl-3-propyl imidazolium bis(tetrafluoromethane sulfonylimide), or ethylmethyl imidazolium hexafluorophosphate(EMI-pF6).
