A tone control circuit and a signal characteristic control circuit are provided to simplify a structure thereof and to reduce a size thereof by forming a separate structure of an extraction circuit and a gain control circuit. A first to n-th extraction circuits correspond to a first to nth frequency bands. The first to nth extraction circuits are formed to extract and output elements of a corresponding frequency band of an initial sound signal. A first to nth gain adjustment circuits correspond to a first to nth extraction circuits. The first to nth gain adjustment circuits adjust a gain of an output signal of the corresponding extraction circuit and generate first to nth sound region adjustment signals. A combination circuit(24) is formed to combines the first to nth sound region adjustment signals in the initial sound signal.
