A spare tire fastening structure for a vehicle is provided to prevent a fuel tank from being damaged by allowing a spare tire to move from its stored position to a road surface automatically when a rear-end collision occurs enough to allow the spare tire to be pushed to a front side. A spare tire fastening structure for a vehicle allows a spare tire(4) to be fastened by interposing a spare tire carrier(12) on a bottom surface of a rear portion of a vehicle frame. The spare tire carrier comprises a case(16) interposed on a bottom surface of a cross frame of the rear portion thereof, a longitudinal member(18) interposed on one side of the case to move in a vehicle lengthwise direction, a pinion(24) interposed to rotate inside the case, which is engaged with a rack of the longitudinal member, a lateral member(26) interposed to move in a vehicle width direction and a fixing hole(32) allowing the spare tire to be fitted into grooves formed in a central portion of one end of the lateral member.
