An apparatus for seam welding of thin strips is provided to improve productivity and secure operational safety by improving shape of weldments to be seam welded into an irregular surface welding form instead of a plane surface welding form, thereby obtaining a more solidly and stably welded state although oil remains on surfaces of the weldments. An apparatus for seam welding of thin strips comprises: an upper base which is larger than width of the coils, and which is movable back and forth to a seam welding position of preceding and following coils(1,2) of a silicon steel sheet along upper guide rails; a lower seam wheel(310) which is installed on one side face of the upper base, to which a negative power is connected, and which makes contact with a bottom face of an overlapped portion of the preceding and following coils; a plurality of punch housing grooves(152) which are longitudinally formed on an upper face of the upper base, of which one sides are perpendicular, and of which other sides are inclined; a welder housing which is fixed to both end portions of the upper face of the upper base, and which has a pass groove formed in a portion of a lower part thereof to pass the preceding and following coils through the pass groove; an upper seam wheel(320) which is installed on one side face of the welder housing correspondingly to the lower seam wheel, to which a positive power is connected, and which makes contact with an upper face of the overlapped portion of the preceding and following coils; a plurality of punch receiving members(210) embedded in the welder housing and fixed to positions on the welder housing corresponding to the punch housing grooves; punches(220) which are inserted into the receiving members, and advance or retreat into the punch housing grooves; and punch cylinders(230) fixed to upper faces of the punch receiving members and connected to upper ends of the punches.
