A method of forming a multilayer thin film composed of at least two or more thin films on a substratum surface through one step, comprising providing phase separation liquids immiscible in each other and, while pulling up a conductive substratum selected from among a conductive organic substance, metal, metal oxide and substance coated therewith from the lowermost phase of the phase separation liquids, applying voltage between the substratum and electrolytic counter electrodes disposed in the phase separation liquids to thereby carry out electrolytic polymerization.
