PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power amplifying apparatus in which the occurrence of overloads of power amplifiers can be appropriately prevented and of which the cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: The electric power amplifying apparatus 100 is equipped with: amplitude level adjusting parts 110 each for adjusting the attenuation degree of the amplitude level of an input signal; the power amplifiers 120 each for amplifying the input signal, the amplitude level of which has been adjusted, to a predetermined signal level and then outputting it to a speaker SP; a power supply part 130 for supplying a power to each power amplifier 120; and a level control part 140 for detecting the power supplied to each power amplifier 120 by the power supply part 130 and controlling, based on the detected power amount, the attenuation degree in the amplitude level adjusting part. When the input signal has an amplitude level equal to or higher than a reference amplitude level, the amplitude level adjusting part 110 attenuates, based on the attenuation degree, the amplitude level of the input signal. When the input signal has an amplitude level lower than the reference amplitude level, the amplitude level adjusting part 110 maintains the amplitude level of the input signal, and varies the reference amplitude level based on the amplitude level of the input signal.
