PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wadding enriched with texture close to feathers, which is light, excellent in heat insulation properties, easy to be along the body, excellent in bulkiness, has a high recovery rate of the bulkiness after compression, and is suitably used for bedding, clothing and sanitary base materials. SOLUTION: The wadding is constituted by mixing ultra-thin short fibers A having a single fiber fineness of 1×10<SP>-8</SP>-1×10<SP>-2</SP>dtx and a mean fiber length of 0.2-200 mm at a weight ratio of 10-80%, thin short fibers B of a polyester as a principal constituent having a single fiber fineness of 0.05-1.5 dtx and a mean fiber length of 0.2-200 mm at a weight ratio of 10-80%, and hollow thick short fibers C of a polyester as a principal constituent having a single fiber fineness of 3.0-10.0 dtx and a mean fiber length of 0.2-200 mm at a weight ratio of 10-80% wherein an oil solution containing a polysiloxane is imparted to at least one kind of the fibers at a weight ratio of 0.05-5%.
