A contents backup method for a mobile terminal, and the mobile terminal and a contents backup server thereof are provided to enable the mobile terminal to back up contents to a contents backup server by transmitting only the contents ID, which is integrally managed, to the contents backup server, and enable the contents backup server to recover the contents to the mobile terminal by using only the contents ID. A contents manager(160) stores and manages the contents downloaded through the wireless Internet to a contents memory(170) together with an ID of the contents. A contents backup part(180) transmits an ID list of the contents stored in the contents memory to the contents backup server. The contents backup part stores the contents ID list previously transmitted to the contents backup server, and transmits the added and deleted contents ID list to the contents backup server when the current contents ID list is not identical with the previous contents ID list. A backup contents processor(190) parses a contents binding file and stores each contents to the contents memory when the contents binding file merging a plurality of contents is downloaded from the contents backup server. The contents ID includes a contents type, a contents provider ID, a contents name, and a contents download URL(Uniform Resource Locator). |
