PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively eliminate a noise signal without increasing a circuit scale, and to suppress the occurrence of a high brightness black level depression phenomenon. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes a photodiode 2, storage capacitances 26 and 27 for storing an optical signal and a noise signal generated by the photodiode 2, and outputs a taken image on the basis of a differential signal of the optical signal and the noise signal. The imaging apparatus also includes a signal processing circuit 208 which generates a differential image between a first taken image obtained by storing the noise signal at a first storage time Tn1 and a second taken image obtained by storing the noise signal at a second storage time Tn2 different from Tn1, extracts an area with the absolute value of a pixel signal equal to or more than a set value from the differential image, and replaces the value of the pixel signal in an area corresponding to the extracted area with the set value in at least either the first taken image or the second taken image.
