PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To return to an automatic shift mode from a temporary manual shift mode in response to an intention of a vehicle driver, in a control device 8 and a shift control system of a vehicular automatic transmission 3 capable of performing the automatic shift mode of automatically shifting the speed in response to a vehicle operation state when a shift lever 21 is positioned in a drive range D and the temporary manual shift mode of realizing a request shift stage when temporary shift operation switches 23A and 23B are manually operated in this automatic shift mode. SOLUTION: The temporary manual shift mode is returned to the automatic shift mode when a duration of accelerator ON in its shift stage reaches a predetermined threshold value after realizing the request shift stage, and the threshold value is changed in proportion to the size of accelerator opening.
