PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem such as the development of a poor bookbinding due to the amount of a semi-molten solid paste picked up with a coating roller under the condition that the solid paste is directly charged to a molten paste part with the coating roller immersed therein to a paste coating part, in which the back of a booklet conveyed and the coating roller come into contact with each other. SOLUTION: This bookbinding device has a resupplying means 61 for resupplying the solid paste PT to an adhesive tank 601, a melting means for melting the solid paste PT resupplied to the adhesive tank, a coating member 602 for coating the paste melted in the adhesive tank to the edge face of the booklet and a separating means 607 for separating a spot, to which the solid paste is resupplied with the resupplying means in the adhesive tank, from the coating member.
