A hybrid vehicle (100) mounts thereon an engine (2) and a motor generator (MG2) as a power source for vehicle traveling. A catalyst converter (8) is provided in the exhaust passage (7) of the engine (2). An HV-ECU (70) estimates the EV travelable distance based on the SOC of an electricity accumulator (10) and compares it with the traveling distance L to a destination set by a navigation device (80). When the EV travelable distance is longer than the traveling distance L, the HV-ECU (70) delivers a control signal (CTL2) for designating prohibition of warm-up to an EG-ECU (60).
