SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING VIBRATION-INDUCED FAILURES IN WIRING BUNDLES

A system for detecting vibration-induced failures in wiring bundles is provided which includes a sensor cable, signal conditioning hardware, and a data acquisition system. The sensor cable is positioned parallel to a bundle of wires such that when an increase in vibration occurs in the wiring, the sensor cable generates a charge which is monitored by the signal conditioning hardware. The signal conditioning hardware then provides a signal to the data acquisition system which analyzes the signal. Based on the analysis, a decision can then be made as to whether the wiring needs to be repaired.
