WASTE TREATMENT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste treatment apparatus capable of efficiently removing foreign matters contained in a liquid to be treated and satisfactorily reducing its maintenance burden.

SOLUTION: The waste treatment apparatus 20 is provided with: a separation tank 5 for separating foreign matter from the liquid to be treated and contains organic matter and the foreign matter to be removed; a storage tank 4 for storing the liquid to be treated; a transfer line L4 for transferring the liquid which is to be treated and is stored in the storage tank 4 to the separation tank 5; a biological treatment tank (a methane fermentation tank) 6 for biologically treating the first separated liquid from the separation tank 5; and a return line L10 for returning a part of the sludge from the biological treatment tank 6 to the separation tank 5. The liquid which is to be treated and is stored in the storage tank 4 is transferred to the separation tank 5 through the transfer line L4 by means of the pressure caused by a head difference between a liquid level of the storage tank 4 and that of the separation tank 5.
