PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending work indicating device for bending machines which enables a worker to easily recognize the direction and the bending places of a metal plate. SOLUTION: The bending work indicating device belongs to a bending machine 1 for bending the metal plate 91 at the plurality of places successively and gives instructions to the worker 14 on a picture on a display device 39. The bending machine 1 has a die condition changing mechanism 6 for changing the length of a die and a die elevating/lowering mechanism 8 and bends the metal plate 91. The bending machine has: a control panel 33 for causing the die elevating/lowering mechanism 8 to perform elevating/lowering operation every on-operation of a switch 36; and a controller 32 for causing the die condition changing mechanism 6 to be operated every operation of the die elevating/lowering mechanism 6 according to a working program 34. The bending work indicating device 31 has: an indicating picture storing means 38 stored with an indicating picture 40 expressing the direction and the bending places of the metal plate 91 every bending work of the metal plate 91 to the bending machine 1; and an indicating picture output means 37 for selecting the indicating picture 40 every elevating/lowering operation of the die elevating/lowering mechanism 8 and causing the display device 39 to display it.
