<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a rewritable optical disk, i.e., wherein a desired error rate may not be obtained because overwrite characteristics change when the disk is left for a fixed period after recording, and sufficient recording quality is not obtained with recording power and erasing power obtained in normal test writing. <P>SOLUTION: When an optical disk is inserted into a recording device, first test writing is executed by using a test writing area set in the optical disk, a recording head part is recorded/reproduced to evaluate recording quality when starting recording. If recording quality is poor, second test writing is executed by using the recording head part, and subsequent data are recorded with recording power and erasing power obtained in the second test writing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
